Closet Visit: Tashina Hill

Tashina Hill’s wardrobe is something to be envious of to say the least. A talented stylist that has such a sense of poise about her, she really does embody effortless style. And not to mention her collection, that’s right it’s a collection, of vintage is absolutely INSANE. Hill really does transcend any era and style. Her grown out Vidal Sassoon hair do, love for high water pants and vintage band t’s are some of the reasons we couldn’t get enough!

1. Who is your fashion inspiration?

My mom is my biggest inspiration but also my amazing friends.

2. Favorite place(s) to shop in Portland?

I mostly shop vintage or resale, most of my closet came from many years working at Buffalo Exchange. I love Palace, New Church Boutique, Yo! Vintage, Rad Summer and Solestruck for shoes.

3. Describe your style!

If Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks was a groupie for the Rolling Stones, who never quite got over her teenage goth years.

It's hard to pin down, I enjoy mixing different styles and eras. 60s mod, 70s psychedelic, and 90s goth and grunge. I think style is in they way many different influences and moods play out in one outfit.

4. What is your fall must have?

5. 5 things you can’t live without?

Mohair, crushed velvet, red wine, turquoise and my family (both real and chosen)

6. 3 favorite items in your closet?

Purple velvet bomber jacket with embroidered eagle on the back, hunter green suede moto jacket, 70's Zuni turquoise ring my mom gave me

7. How do you choose what you wear in the morning?

I usually start with one piece I want to wear and go from there.

8. Tell us two truths and a lie!

I lived in a tee pee as a child, my name is the name of the female sun spirit of the Sioux tribe, I'm a good liar.

9. What is the best thing about your job?

Always being challenged and playing with clothes.

10. Any shopping advice you have?

Have fun, only buy what makes you happy.
